Registration strengthens transparency and visibility for rural-impact work; it does not indicate that funds have been raised.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): The Desai Foundation Trust has been registered as a Not-for-Profit Organisation (NPO) on the National Stock Exchange’s Social Stock Exchange (SSE), marking a governance and visibility milestone for its community programmes in rural India. NSE records the Trust under Registration No. NSESSENPO0207, dated 3 September 2026, with its status marked as “Registered” and validity until 2 September 2027.
Registered NPO Status
The registration places the Trust within the NSE Social Stock Exchange ecosystem, which is intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and structured social-finance participation. The status should not be confused with an SSE listing or a completed fundraising transaction.
For nonprofits, SSE registration can support stronger impact reporting and provide a regulated route to explore future resource mobilisation. The Trust said no funds have been raised merely through its registration.
Transparency Focused Growth
“Registering with the NSE Social Stock Exchange is an important step in strengthening the long-term sustainability of our work,” said Mittal Gohil, Executive Director, Desai Foundation Trust.
“At Desai Foundation Trust, we believe that community-led development needs not only effective programmes, but also transparent reporting, strong accountability and diverse avenues of support,” she said.
Gohil said the Trust sees the platform as an opportunity to build greater visibility for its work across rural health, women’s livelihoods and menstrual equity, while exploring responsible funding pathways for proven community-led solutions.
Rural Impact Portfolio
The Desai Foundation Trust works with women and children through community programmes focused on health, livelihood creation and menstrual equity. According to its organisational profile, the nonprofit operates 30 programmes across eight Indian states and has worked with rural communities for 27 years.
The Trust reports an impact of more than 13 million lives, production of over 13 million sanitary napkins, outreach to 4,000 communities and 232,000 beneficiaries through health camps.
Its programme portfolio includes ASANI sanitary napkins, health camps and awareness initiatives, vocational and entrepreneurship training, solar and electric-vehicle skills, and Heroes for Humanity—a community health facilitator model supporting long-term local action.
Responsible Finance Ahead
The registration signals an emphasis on measurable outcomes and stronger disclosures as the nonprofit expands partnerships. “Our focus will remain on responsible resource mobilisation, measurable outcomes and demonstrating how investments in communities translate into meaningful, lasting change,” Gohil said.
For Desai Foundation Trust, the SSE registration is not the end goal, but a step towards strengthening partnerships and sustaining impact in rural India.
