On Children’s Day, Yulu will also donate 50 cycles to children as part of their “Wheels to Education” initiative with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC).

Yulu in partnership with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) and Rotary District 3190 to provide 1000 cycles to girl students in various government schools in Bengaluru under the “Wheels to Education” initiative

In many regions, girl students are unable to pursue education as they are not able to find a means of commute to school every day. To solve the transportation gap faced by girls in their daily lives, and to help them in their access to education, Yulu, India’s largest e-mobility service provider, in collaboration with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC), and Rotary District 3190, will expand their partnership and provide 1000 cycles to underprivileged girl students from different government schools in Bengaluru.

With this initiative, Yulu hopes to build more independence for girls and enable them to have an easy and efficient means of commute to their schools every day. Yulu and Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) had previously collaborated to donate 20 cycles to government school students in the Channasandra area as part of their “Wheels for Words” initiative. The initiative has helped increase the attendance levels of these students and facilitated them in getting the best educational access possible. With the present initiative, Yulu and RBITC want to help the girl students improve their daily attendance, and facilitate them in their commute to school every day.

Under the initiative, Yulu has already finalised the distribution of 500 cycles across various schools in Bengaluru with Rotary District 3190 and RBITC. A further 500 cycles will be provided to students in the coming months in collaboration with Rotary District 3190 and RBITC. As part of this Children’s Day, Yulu will also donate 50 cycles to underprivileged children in its continuing partnership with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor to support the education of children in government schools in Bengaluru.

Yulu will further partner with RBITC in their “Cycle Bengaluru Cycle” rally to be held on November 14, 2021. The rally will witness 75 Bengaluru city policemen riding Yulu Bikes to promote Bengaluru’s development of cycle-friendly infrastructure and encourage the use of cycle tracks that are being designed in the city.

Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, Mr. Pawan Seth, President-RBITC, said, “Rotary Bangalore IT corridor and Rotary District 3190 are delighted to announce its collaboration with Yulu. This collaboration is primarily focused on supporting and empowering girls from underprivileged communities and enabling them by donating cycles to them. Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor’s Girl Child Education Programme (GCEP) aims at facilitating, improving, educating, and empowering girls from marginalized communities and this support would enable the girls to commute to school and encourage regular attendance, thus improving their livelihood and development.”

Amit Gupta, Co-Founder – Yulu , said, “We believe this initiative is a step forward in our mission to help students from different backgrounds in fulfilling their school-going needs and promoting education in our community. Our efforts have been constant in supporting social welfare initiatives and working towards building a sustainable mobility ecosystem in the cities we are present.”

Yulu began its journey with the main goal of reducing traffic congestion and pollution and making first and last-mile connectivity seamless in Indian cities. Since then, Yulu has come a long way in redefining urban mobility in India. The initiatives undertaken by Yulu since its inception has been relentless in making the urban commute seamless, shareable and sustainable. Yulu’s motive has always been to make people’s lives easier, and the company is continuously striving to create a positive impact in society in every way it can.
