Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, under its Employee Volunteerism Program (EVP) organized a Career Orientation Program in four Govt. high schools across Jharsuguda in Odisha, where it has production facilities.
Through the Career Orientation Program, the EVP aims at providing career guidance to class IX and X students of Govt. High Schools across Jharsuguda and disseminating important information in relation to availability of career options, technical know-how and available assistance. The program has a target of covering 40 Govt. schools in the upcoming 10 months.
Company informed that more than 650 students from four government schools attended the program. 13 Vedanta employees along with GG Pal, Vice President and Sundar Raj, Head CSR interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into various career options available after Matriculation or Higher Secondary education.
Sudha Rani Sharma, a student of Class IX, Govt. Girls High School, said, “It is my dream to become an IAS officer but I wasn’t sure till this day as to how to pursue my ambition. The career orientation program organized by Vedanta cleared all my doubts and I have a strong believe now to be an IAS officer. I am thankful for all their guidance”.
