In today’s world, plastic waste has become a pressing issue that requires immediate attention and innovative solutions. Fortunately, several startupsĀ  have emerged with a mission to tackle this problem head-on. Their efforts not only help reduceĀ  the impact of plastic pollution on the environment but also inspire individuals and businesses to adopt more eco- friendly practice. In this report , we will exploreĀ  some of these startups and the remarkable work they are doing to remove plastic wastage from our planet. From reusable packaging systems to biodegradable alternatives, these startups are leading the way towards a cleaner and greener future.Ā Ā

Bambrew

Bambrew is a one-stop innovative solution provider for sustainable packaging in India.  With a mission to wipe out plastic usage in the packaging industry, it offers a host of products that are 100% handmade, reusable, and the perfect natural substitute for single-use plastics in the B2B domain. The company curates every product made from bamboo, sugarcane, and seaweed. Incepted in 2018, Bangalore-based Bambrew is the brainchild of Vaibhav Anant. When the news around the plastic ban spurred, he realized that most of the plastic waste generated comes from the packaging industry, around 55% of the waste generated across the globe. This distressing situation intrigued him to create an effective alternative to single-use plastic straws by using Bamboo Fibers. Eventually, Bambrew was established to offer environment-friendly and cost-efficient packaging solutions.

Boon

The brainchild of Dr. Vibha Tripathi, Boon is a water tech startup with a mission to use innovation for impact. It started with the development of WaterATMĀ®, a unique solution deployed widely for social impact, to bring affordable drinking water to the masses. In order to maintain a large fleet of spread-out purification plants throughout India, Boon established an R&D center and developed a patented IoT platform called Clairvoyant. One of the world’s first and most advanced dedicated platforms for drinking water. This technology was later adapted to enable hotels and offices to eliminate plastic bottles from their premises. Boon has led a revolution in replacing plastic bottles from hotels with sustainable glass water bottles with its innovative systems with the Zero Mile Water concept. Boon aims to challenge the status quo with technology and innovation. Currently, plastic bottled water is damaging the environment and health while existing water purifiers are extremely inefficient and reduce the mineral content in water. Boon’s water purifiers are up to 4 times more efficient than standard purifiers and can have up to 3 times more minerals.
