PUNE (India CSR): SKF India Limited, a leading technology and solutions provider in the bearing and automotive industry, has launched a nationwide mobile van campaign to uplift two-wheeler mechanics across India. This initiative, covering 100+ cities across 19 states, is set to engage with over 8,000 mechanics, offering hands-on training, product knowledge, and critical awareness about counterfeit automotive parts.

By bringing expert guidance, genuine product education, and technical training directly to mechanics, SKF India aims to enhance skill development, ensure customer safety, and strengthen the automotive aftermarket ecosystem.

Addressing Counterfeiting Challenges in the Automotive Industry

The presence of counterfeit bearings and automotive components in the market poses a serious risk to mechanics, vehicle owners, and overall road safety. Fake products not only compromise vehicle performance but also increase maintenance costs and lead to early part failure.

Through this mobile van campaign, SKF India is taking a proactive step to combat counterfeiting by educating mechanics on how to identify and authenticate genuine SKF products using the SKF Authenticate app. This effort will help mechanics make informed decisions, ensuring they use only high-quality, original components that enhance safety and durability.

A Hands-On Learning Experience for Mechanics

The SKF Mobile Van is designed as an interactive learning space where mechanics can explore SKF’s extensive two-wheeler product range. They will receive on-the-spot training, product demonstrations, and access to SKF’s innovative solutions. The campaign focuses on:

  • Hands-on engagement with SKF’s high-quality bearings and automotive solutions
  • Technical guidance on improving repair efficiency and customer service
  • Product authentication training to combat counterfeit risks
  • Awareness of SKF’s 15-month warranty program, offering added assurance to customers

A Commitment to Sustainable and Efficient Mobility

SKF India’s vision aligns with its global purpose: ‘Together, we re-imagine rotation for a better tomorrow.’ The company remains dedicated to delivering intelligent, clean, and high-performance solutions that contribute to a sustainable future.

Speaking on the campaign, Alagesan Thasari, Director of SKF Automotive India & Southeast Asia, emphasized the importance of industry collaboration:

“At SKF, we believe in empowering the backbone of the automotive industry—our mechanics. This campaign is not just about product awareness but about enabling mechanics with the skills, knowledge, and tools to provide better service. By equipping them with the right training and solutions, we are helping build a safer, more efficient, and customer-focused automotive aftermarket.”

Driving Positive Change in the Automotive Industry

SKF India’s mobile van initiative is a game-changer for two-wheeler mechanics. By ensuring skill enhancement, product awareness, and counterfeit prevention, the campaign strengthens the trust and reliability of the automotive aftermarket industry.

With this nationwide outreach, SKF continues to stand as a trusted partner, driving positive change, efficiency, and sustainability within India’s growing two-wheeler market.
