Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India’s Energy Maharatna, has made a significant contribution of Rs 100 crores to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) on 31 March 2023. Previous Contributions to the PM CARES Fund

ONGC has been contributing to the PM CARES Fund since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2020, the company contributed Rs 300 crore to the Fund during the first wave of the pandemic. In FY 2021-22, the company contributed another Rs 70 crore to the Fund for maintaining the medical equipment purchased by Oil Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) during the two waves of the pandemic.

Safety and Health Measures for Employees and Stakeholders

ONGC has implemented several measures to ensure the safety and health of its employees and stakeholders during the pandemic. The company has implemented work-from-home and social distancing policies, increased sanitization and hygiene measures, and provided medical support to employees and their families.

Contributing to the Society at Large

ONGC is also contributing to the society at large by providing essential supplies like food, water, and medical equipment to communities in need. The company is working closely with local authorities and NGOs to ensure that the resources reach the beneficiaries in a timely and efficient manner.

About the PM CARES Fund

The PM CARES Fund was set up by the Government of India on 28 March 2020 with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund is chaired by the Prime Minister of India and includes eminent persons from various fields.

Summary

ONGC’s contribution to the PM CARES Fund is a testament to its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. The company’s ongoing efforts to support society and the nation during these challenging times are commendable, and we hope that other organizations will follow suit and contribute to the Fund to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and other emergency situations.
