NAVI MUMBAI: Nexus Malls, has always been the forefront of partnerships & association which make a social impact. This time around, Nexus malls has joined hands with Maharashtra Road Safety Cell & WERIDE, a group of passionate bikers who have a national presence for a nationwide campaign on road safety awareness in India.

The campaign aims to bring down road accidents and fatalities by making bikers aware of the need to pay heed to traffic rules and regulations as well as the importance of road etiquette and behaviour.

Under this campaign, a group of riders from Cruise India will travel across the states of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, to spread the road safety message in schools and colleges, shopping malls, and at street corners. The bikers, along with local riders, will also participate in road safety rallies in Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Indore and New Delhi.

The campaign will be launched from Upvan Lake, Thane, where the Cruise India bikers will ride up to the Seawoods Grand Central Mall, Navi Mumbai, and take the Road Safety Awareness Pledge.

They will then continue on their journey through the six states. Seawoods Grand Central Mall will also invite its patrons to take the Pledge on February 8-9, 2020.

Nilesh Singh, Centre Director, Seawoods Grand Central Mall said, “As a socially responsible mall, it is our responsibility to spread awareness about road safety among all our patrons. Initiatives like these will help communicate the message on the need to stay alert while riding. Not just Seawoods Grand Central Mall, other malls in our portfolio like Ahmedabad One, The Pavillion, Westend Mall & Treasure Island are also going to play host to these riders who are on this nationwide campaign. We wholeheartedly invite our patrons to pledge their support in ensuring that they will abide to all traffic rule & regulations when they are on the road.”

The flag off event will be attended by eminent personalities including Bollywood actress Neha Sharma and Jitendra Patil, Jt. State Transport Commissioner.

Jitendra Patil, Jt. State Transport Commissioner – said, “Simple driving rules should be embedded in the minds of the people to ensure their own safety and that of others, including pedestrians. Road safety needs all the attention it can get. We hope such initiatives will help us reach out to bikers and emphasize the importance of safe and mindful driving.”
