250 employees volunteer to sensitize 600 beneficiaries
As part of HGS’ CSR volunteering program – Work to Give, Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) organised a dog therapy campaign – Pals and Paws at 10 government schools and Divya Downs Development Trust (an NGO working for Children with Down Syndrome) in Bangalore.
Under this campaign, multiple workshops are being organized for 600 children at the schools including GHPS Bilekahalli, GHPS Garvebhavipalya and GHPS Parangipalya, over a period of almost two weeks, ending January 31, 2020.
HGS has invited the professional expertise of Karthik Ramasubramanian, a young entrepreneur and canine behaviourist for the workshops, who along with 250 HGS volunteers, will sensitize government school students aged between 10-14.
The aim of the campaign is to create awareness about the concept of ‘Therapy Dogs’, sensitize children towards animal welfare and help them to get over their fear of dogs. The ‘Therapy Dog’ is a popular concept used in the rehabilitation of special children. Karthik encouraged the students to play catch and other interactive games with Cleo and Coco – the therapy dogs and in the process addressed the objectives of the session. The children openly expressed their enthusiasm and delight at having Cleo and Coco as pals.
