PRAYAGRAJ (India CSR): Amidst the grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025, Himalaya BabyCare launched an inspiring Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, ‘Prepare Your Baby Bag’, aimed at promoting shared parenting and ensuring essential baby care for underprivileged children.

In collaboration with the Prayagraj Mela Authority (PMA) and other key partners, this initiative leveraged one of the world’s largest gatherings to raise awareness about equal caregiving. It not only encouraged fathers to take an active role in childcare but also extended its impact by donating 500+ baby bags to orphanages, reinforcing Himalaya BabyCare’s commitment to child welfare.

Creating Awareness Through an Interactive Challenge

A key highlight of the initiative was the interactive booth at Maha Kumbh, where families participated in the engaging “Prepare Your Baby Bag” challenge.

  • Parents were invited to pack a baby bag within a set time, choosing from a range of Himalaya BabyCare essentials such as baby soap, oil, wipes, lotion, and powder.
  • The challenge encouraged fathers to actively engage in baby care, breaking stereotypes that parenting is solely a mother’s responsibility.
  • Families who successfully completed the activity received complimentary product samples, allowing them to experience Himalaya’s trusted care first-hand.

This unique initiative sparked meaningful conversations about shared parenting, helping to create a cultural shift towards equal caregiving roles in Indian households.

Donating Baby Bags to Orphanages: Extending the Impact

Beyond awareness, the initiative had a strong social impact by ensuring that underprivileged infants also benefited from gentle and high-quality baby care products.

  • More than 500 baby bags were donated to orphanages, ensuring that children in need received essential hygiene and wellness products.
  • This act of giving aligned with Himalaya BabyCare’s broader mission to nurture every child with safe, natural, and effective baby care solutions.
  • By bridging the gap in access to baby care essentials, the initiative reinforced the importance of early childhood hygiene and well-being.

Encouraging a Shift in Parenting Norms

Chakravarthi N V, Director – BabyCare, Himalaya Wellness Company, emphasized the need for a more inclusive parenting culture in India:

“The Maha Kumbh Mela brought together millions of families, making it an ideal platform to inspire change in parenting roles. In many households, childcare responsibilities are traditionally placed on mothers, while fathers remain on the sidelines. Through this campaign, we aimed to normalize shared parenting, encouraging fathers to be more actively involved in their child’s growth and well-being.”

His words highlighted Himalaya BabyCare’s commitment to fostering a more balanced and nurturing family dynamic.

Leveraging Social Media for a Wider Reach

The initiative’s impact extended beyond the Maha Kumbh grounds, with strategic digital outreach on social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Localized content in Hindi ensured that the campaign resonated with diverse communities across urban and rural India.
  • Videos, testimonials, and challenge highlights encouraged more parents to engage in discussions about shared parenting.
  • The #PrepareYourBabyBag movement inspired families to rethink traditional parenting roles and prioritize joint responsibility in childcare.

By harnessing the power of social media and community participation, Himalaya BabyCare successfully amplified the message of shared parenting and child welfare.

You Learn: A CSR Initiative That Makes a Difference

Himalaya BabyCare’s ‘Prepare Your Baby Bag’ initiative at Maha Kumbh 2025 went beyond raising awareness—it took action.

From engaging families in shared parenting conversations to providing essential care for orphaned infants, the campaign set a new benchmark for CSR initiatives in India.

By integrating education, action, and community impact, Himalaya BabyCare reaffirmed its mission to support both parents and children in their journey towards a healthier, happier future.
