BENGALORE: As part of its volunteering program – Work to Give, 300 employees of Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd. (HGS) participated in sprucing up the Doddakallasandra Govt. High School in Bangalore.
School rejuvenation has been one of many initiatives that HGS employees have supported in association with HGS’ NGO partner- The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF).
This program was a four-day volunteering drive at Doddakallasandra Government High School. Starting with surface preparation of the wall with white-wash and providing a coat of paint to creating educative murals, employees of HGS helped add great colour to the school.
“HGS firmly believes in the philosophy of contributing to the communities that we operate in. We are happy that we are not only able to bring positive change as an organisation but also at an individual capacity through employee volunteering. It was great to see over 300 of our employees engage in creating a more conducive and friendly environment for the school children.” said Shilpa Sinha Harsh, SVP – Global Corporate Communications, D&I & CSR, Hinduja Global Solutions
Kolika M, principal of Doddakallasandra Govt. High School stated, “Schools are a second home for students and its extremely important for us to create a learning environment that is both vibrant and clean. We have seen a strong and genuine connection that the HGS volunteers have built with the school, both with the staff and students. It is very heartening to see such support from corporates in facilitating education.”
