VIZAG: Gangavaram Port Limited as a part of their Corporate Social responsibility program today distributed training certificates and sewing machines to 50 women from Sri Nagar Colony (Rehabilitated village) who have already undergone training under the 7th batch for sewing machine training program.
Nanduri Sambashiva Rao, CEO, Gangavaram Port, inaugurated the program and distributed machines to the women along with course completion certificates.
GPL has so far provided training in sewing machine operation for 359 women under 7 batches who are from rehabilitated villages. The purpose of providing training and distribution of sewing machines is to support women empowerment and promoting their participation in all areas and sectors to build stronger economies, improve their quality of life and bring gender equality. The training is provided by the IL&FS Vadlapudi Visakhapatnam, a reputed institute in providing various programs.

The Sewing Machine Operation training program by Gangavaram port has received a fantastic response from the women folks in the neighboring villages as it has provided them with an opportunity to supplement the family income.
