MUMBAI: Capri Foundation, a CSR arm of Capri Global Capital Limited (CGCL), a leading NBFC in the MSME and Affordable Housing sector in association with Green Yatra has organized a tree plantation drive.
The Green Yatra volunteers along with the company employees planted 200 saplings in two hours at Embarkation HQ Camp, Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai.
Emphasizing the need to protect and conserve the environment, Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director, Capri Global Capital Ltd said, “Restoration of green cover is an attempt towards the same and the company is enthused to take more such initiative in the near future to build a sustainable environment in and around the urban citizens”.Â
The company also targeting to plant another 2000 livelihood fruits tree in the outskirts of Mumbai with an objective to stop farmers’ migration to urban areas and support them with sustainable income generation.
The initiative will provide fruits such as coconut, jackfruits, chikoo, mango and more along with timber tree saplings.
The company will also assist with soil testing, training for innovative plantation methods and maintenance tips for fast and healthy growth of the saplings.
Green Yatra is a leading environment NGO of India focusing towards environment health and works PAN India. Their ‘Pedh Lagao’ project is dedicated to plant 10 Crore TREES by 2025 across India. So far, Green Yatra have saved and protected many million trees and planted more than 345,931 saplings with over 90% survival rate.
