In an effort to support and provide financial aid to the West Bengal State Government, Axis Bank, India’s third largest private-sector bank today announced its commitment of Rs 1 crore towards relief and restoration efforts in the areas affected by Amphan.
To provide comfort and ease to the customers, the Bank has waived off charges for saving accounts, current accounts and prepaid card customers towards online IMPS and ATM financial and non-financial transactions till 30th June, 2020.

The Bank’s employees and partners have been working relentlessly with the district and state level authorities towards restoring critical and civil infrastructure, as also providing Micro-ATMs POS machines and mobile vans in the State for greater ease and convenience. We have ensured that our branches and ATMs are fully functional to provide banking support to all our customers in the state at this crucial juncture.”
Over the years, Axis Bank has been working closely with the State to ensure maximum benefits for its people. It has been managing the government funds efficiently to ensure smooth processing of various government schemes meant for social upliftment.
The Bank has also been managing paddy procurement across the State, liaising with various state-appointed agencies and is the only private bank to have handled the state disaster response fund under agriculture department.
It is also the Banker for state urban development department and ISGGP under Panchayat Raj. The Bank is integrated with the state finance portals – GRIPS and SBMS and has been mandated to collect state taxes and various ULB taxes.
Axis Bank will keep providing all banking and financial solutions through its vast network of 145 and 300 branches and 680 and 1511 ATMs in Kolkata and West Bengal State respectively.
