Introducing EdTech in Anganwadis has always been a dream for me, which I am delighted to say, has been accomplished with the help of ConveGenius and our CSR partners.
India (India CSR): Carrying forward the vision of the Government of Goa to introduce Digital Anganwadis in the state, the Department of Women and Child Development, supported by Cipla Foundation, Colorcon, General Electric, and Siemens, have launched this first-ever initiative in the country on December 1st, 2022, as 125 AWCs get set to become digitally enabled. Mr. Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Health, TCP, Forest, Urban Development, Women & Child Development, and Dr. Deviya Rane, MLA – Poriem Constituency, inaugurated the same.
The launch marks the beginning of transforming traditional Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) into Digital Anganwadi Centres by providing a personalised and adaptive learning (PAL) software package as per NIPUN Bharat guidelines, including Tablets, TVs, and offline educational content in Konkani and English for children attending the Anganwadi Centres.
The software tools designed by ConveGenius aim to strengthen the foundational numeracy skills of students, provide motivation, and build confidence by developing L-S-R-W (Listening-Speaking-Writing-Reading) skills in children.
“We believe that with easy-to-use technology, trained and highly motivated Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and helpers, with developmentally appropriate fun and engaging content, each child attending these AWCs shall receive personalised support, thereby contributing to improved classroom engagement and learning outcomes,” says Viprav Chaudhary, Vice President at ConveGenius, the EdTech partner for this initiative.
“Introducing EdTech in Anganwadis has always been a dream for me, which I am delighted to say, has been accomplished with the help of ConveGenius and our CSR partners. We have laid down this vision wherein select AWCs would be equipped with a meaningful EdTech solution as a pilot initiative, and basis learnings from this pilot, the Digital Anganwadi Program would be further scaled to the entire state of Goa,” said Mr Vishwajit Rane. “We hope this initiative will transform the early education landscape in Goa,” he adds.
