WEST BOKARO: Tata Steel in association with Sankara Nethralaya is organizing a free-of-cost best-in-class cataract camp for the people residing in and around West Bokaro.
The main objective of this camp is o provide world class eye care facilities to the aged people with cataract in remote villages and gifting back the vision that have preventable blindness.
The camp was inaugurated today by Dr U K Patwari, Head Consultant, Tata Central Hospital (TCH) and Dr Sabari Patwari, Head Consultant, TCH at Community Centre, Mukundabera.
Among others present on the occasion were Anil Chandrawansi, Mukhiya, Barughutu Central, Nirmal Karmali, Mukhiya, Kedala South, Mohammad Taiuddin, Sarpanch, Barughutu Central, Manoj Sinha, Sarpanch, Barughutu Central, Keshav Ranjan, Unit Head, Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) and Dr Jayant Tripathy, Senior Registrar, Corporate Social Responsibility.
On the first day a total of 212 persons were registered and screened. A team of 22 medical professionals is there at West Bokaro for 10 days to ensure best-in-class check-up and treatment to patients suffering from cataract.
The registration and screening of cases has been scheduled from December 15, 2017 to December 18, 2017 followed by surgery till December 24, 2017. Black glasses along with medicines will also be provided to the patients on the concluding day.
It is worth mentioning here that a similar camp was organised in the month of November in which 132 people were successfully operated.
