Book on Secured Tourism For India Launched By Dr. K. Chiranjeevi,Tourism Minister


The author, Dr P Sekhar, Chairman of Micro Tech Global Foundation, a Navi Mumbai based  leading Indian think tank and research organization on Secured Governance, has authored over 40 books on various subjects.

MUMBAI: Union Minister of State for Tourism  Dr. K. Chiranjeevi today released an insightful and first-of-its-kind book titled: -‘Secured Tourism – An Engine for Techno-Economic Growth’ at a function at New Delhi. The book has been authored by the Chairman of Micro Tech Global Foundation (MTGF), Dr P. Sekhar, one of India’s most respected scientific thinkers in the area of Secured Governance.

The book delves upon 3,650 major tourist destinations of India and various governments’ initiatives. It showcases how public and private policy measures which will make India among the top tourist destinations in the world. The 500-page book offers clear cut plans for developing Indian tourism across sectors like Religious Tourism, Rural Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Wellness Tourism, Eco Tourism, Cruise Tourism, Golf Tourism, Medical Tourism, Highway Tourism, Rail Tourism, Wildlife Tourism etc.

Releasing the book Dr Chiranjeevi said, “I am delighted to see the book ‘Secured Tourism – An Engine for Techno Economic Growth’ – by Dr. P. Sekhar. This book gives detailed overview of present tourism scenario and the prospects of National growth through tourism in India. It also gives an insight into the security requirements in tourism to boost the sector for the overall growth of the economy. It would be of immense help to international and domestic tourists to acquire more knowledge about the country and its travel destinations.”

The Book was also appreciated and well received along with Dr. Sekhar’s concept of ‘Secured Governance’ by Mr. Parvez Dewan (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Ms. Usha Sharma (IAS), Joint Secretary Ministry of Tourism, Government of India among the other dignitaries.

Presenting the first copy of his book to Dr Chiranjeevi, Dr P Sekhar said, “Indian tourism has huge hidden potential and through my research and thinking I have suggested an easy and practical way to unearth this hidden potential that will deliver definite economic benefits to the country. I also believe tourism is one the most powerful ways to showcase India’s pride to the international audience and make the country a destination of choice. The book has been researched and written by Dr Sekhar and his team over a period of many years. It brings out the enormous economic potential that India has for tourism. Starting with an overview of tourism in the country, it spells out various kinds of tourism and the interdependence of tourism on other sectors is well illustrated. The book discusses the hospitality industry in India. Security issues involving tourists are also adequately covered. The book also dwells on the importance of secured governance for establishing a vibrant tourism corridor. Interesting facts and figures enhance the readers’ interest.

Dr P. Sekhar, author of over 40 books on National Security and Secured Governance, is Chairman of Micro Tech Global Foundation, a Navi Mumbai based leading think-tank and research organization working in the field of Secured Governance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Science and a Doctorate in Solid State Electronics and Nuclear Physics.

Today, Dr. Sekhar advises and works closely with both Central and State Governments on the issue of Secured Governance. An authority in electronic security and IT, Dr Sekhar has served as Director (Technology), Government of Maharashtra and GOI where he led the planning and implementation of electronic systems and computerization in many government departments. He was the first Director of the Software Technology Park, Pune. His books on Secured Governance have received wide acclaim and appreciation from the Chief Ministers of several states, Cabinet Ministers and policy makers and have received of numerous awards.
