CSR or CSE (Corporate Societal Engagement) targets the welfare of the society brought about by the participation of the stakeholders. The development of ethically, educationally, culturally and economically deprived areas of the society can be enhanced by the usage of resources and skills operated by the organization.
Corporate Sustainability and Social Deprivation Eradication
CSE is directly related to the act of eradicating social deprivation by means of resourceful development implemented by the organization, and the stability of the occurrence of such acts is Corporate Sustainability.
Responsibility, Sustainability, and Organizational Engagement
The need for a progressive bond between society and business is the gateway to simultaneous growth in major aspects. The correlation between Responsibility and Sustainability lies within the path leading to a flourishing engagement of the organization paired up with the reciprocation of the society.
Bayer’s Commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact
At Bayer, sustainability means future viability and is part of the corporate strategy; sustainability is integrated into our everyday procedures. Through its CSE projects, Bayer aims to create an impact on the Indian Society by piloting pioneering projects like Discovering Hands & Program for Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence (PPPSV).
Empowering Women and Preventive Health Initiatives
Discovering Hands trains and employs visually impaired women to detect breast cancer tumours at the earliest stages possible, while the PPPSV aims to safeguard women and children from sexual violence and its after-effects.
Understanding Social Issues for Productive Business Involvement
We believe that careful analysis of social issues drawn from the fields of Sociology and Political Science, induces a deeper understanding of the same, ensuring more productive involvement of business in the society and for the society.
Redefining Corporate-Societal Relationship and Market Sensitivity
Even though not every corporation has the same role to play in the society, the relationship between corporation and society is redefined by its inputs in various environmental and social aims with multiple stakeholders.
Strategic Focus on Societal Development
This is true for the world’s largest organizations. To invest in a particular sector, a company should be aware of the nerves of the market; especially when it comes to a market as sensitive as that of India.
Bayer’s Pillars for Societal Development
Corporates should have their focus on a few sectors in the platform for societal development, which could be sustained for a longer duration. For instance, we, as Bayer, have taken an initiative to focus on four pillars:
- Empowering Women
- Fostering Education
- Fostering Rural Development
- Preventive Health and Sanitation
Innovation and Social Responsibility
To sustain and grow in the market, an organization has to spread its projects and extend its reach across the country. It requires diversification to induce invention of new ideas, and to promote customer and employee engagement. We create innovation structures in our social responsibility strategy which goes beyond our products and services, resulting in betterment of the society. We believe that the more we reach out to the people, the more we grow with the people.
