Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu (India CSR): Reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive industrial development, Highway Roop Precision Technologies Limited (HRPTL) has launched ‘Auto Shakti’, a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that will equip women with industry-ready automotive skills and connect them to employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu’s thriving automobile manufacturing sector.
The programme was formally launched on 14 July 2026 in Sriperumbudur, one of India’s largest automotive manufacturing hubs, where women from nearby communities will receive technical training, soft skills, workplace safety orientation, and placement support to build sustainable careers in the automotive industry.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Caritas India, the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Automobile (TNSDC) and the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM), bringing together industry, government and the development sector to create a robust ecosystem for women’s employability.
A major milestone during the event was the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Highway Roop Precision Technologies Limited, Caritas India and TNSDC, laying the foundation for long-term collaboration to strengthen skill development and employment pathways for women across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Laxmikant Bhandare, CSR Lead, Highway Roop Precision Technologies Limited, said, “Skill development has the power to transform lives, create livelihoods, and strengthen communities. Auto Shakti is more than a training initiative—it is a platform that enables women to realise their potential, gain financial independence, and pursue meaningful careers in the automotive industry. We are proud to contribute towards building a more diverse, skilled, and future-ready manufacturing workforce”.
The launch was attended by Mr. Kasiviswanathan Panchatsharam, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Automobile (TNSDC); Ms. K. Aarthy, Joint Director, Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM); Ms. Shanthi, District Social Welfare Officer; Fr. With Auto Shakti, Highway Roop Precision Technologies aims to create a scalable model that empowers women with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to become part of India’s manufacturing workforce while contributing to the economic progress of their families and communities.
