Piramal Foundation presents ‘Doing Well & Doing Good’ to Hon’ble President of India to showcase their pan-India social sector initiatives
Ajay Piramal, Chairman, Piramal Group, and Dr. Swati Piramal, Vice Chairperson, Piramal Group, recently met with Smt. Draupadi Murmu, President of India, to discuss the various initiatives undertaken by the Piramal Foundation to solve some of the most challenging problems in the country. The meeting was an opportunity to present the Hon’ble President with a book titled ‘Doing Well & Doing Good,’ which showcases the Foundation’s pan-India programmes in areas of tribal health and welfare, education, water conservation, Ayushman Bharat, and digital healthcare services.
‘Doing Well & Doing Good’ book
The book offers a glimpse into the comprehensive portfolio of solutions offered by the Piramal Foundation, which includes Big Bets aimed at helping India achieve her Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. One of the key programmes under the Foundation, the Tribal Health Collaborative, is focused on eliminating tuberculosis, reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates, improving healthcare access through traditional tribal medicine, and integrating art and culture in tribal health.
Aspirational Districts Collaborative
Another crucial initiative is the Aspirational Districts Collaborative, which aims to uplift the lives of 100 million people living in poverty in 112 Aspirational Districts by 2030 through hyperlocal collaboration and last-mile convergence. The Foundation is working towards mobilizing foundational literacy and learning, screening and treating people with anemia, and fostering self-reliance and ownership in water management.
Piramal School of Leadership and Digital Bharat Collaborative
The Piramal School of Leadership, another key initiative, nurtures leaders of tomorrow in the fields of education, health, and climate sustainability. The Digital Bharat Collaborative looks at implementing digital architecture for improved healthcare services.
