ACC Limited continues to contribute significantly to the dignity, well-being, and prosperity of communities surrounding its operations.

NEW DELHI (India CSR): ACC Limited, a renowned name in the cement industry, has showcased its dedication to social responsibility through significant CSR initiatives in the fiscal year 2023-24. With an investment of Rs. 37.49 crore, ACC’s CSR programs have reached over 0.3 million beneficiaries across 12 states, focusing on critical areas such as education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, skill development, and community infrastructure.

Comprehensive Community Engagement

ACC places a strong emphasis on community engagement as a fundamental aspect of its corporate responsibility. Through its dedicated CSR arm, the company has positively impacted lives by aligning its initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Stakeholder engagement is crucial for effective program management, involving community advisory panels and CSR committees at the plant level to foster positive partnerships for local development.

Education: Enhancing Learning Outcomes

In the domain of education, ACC is dedicated to improving the quality of education and learning outcomes. Key interventions include Project Kalika Siri, which supports slow learners in the 10th grade, and the establishment of 16 schools across various locations, ensuring high-quality education for children from host communities. In 2023-24, these initiatives impacted 32,722 beneficiaries.

Community Health: Improving Access to Healthcare

ACC’s community health initiatives span 101 villages across 13 sites, providing services through Mobile Health Care Units, clinics, and healthcare outreach camps. The company also contributed to installing a CT-scan facility at the district hospital in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh, enhancing healthcare access for the community. These efforts reached 74,610 beneficiaries.

Sustainable Livelihoods Development: Empowering Communities

In sustainable livelihoods development, ACC’s CSR arm focuses on enhancing the financial well-being of cattle owners through livestock development interventions, including artificial insemination, preventive vaccination, and training on best practices. Additionally, a dairy enterprise development initiative in Jamul and Tikaria benefits 95 cattle owners. These programs impacted 53,783 beneficiaries.

Skill Development: Empowering the Youth

Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission, ACC’s Adani Skill Development Centre empowers youth through certification programs. Since April 2023, 1,881 youths have been enrolled in these programs across 12 ACC sites, impacting 2,869 beneficiaries.

Community Infrastructure Development: Building Sustainable Communities

ACC actively promotes water conservation among communities, undertaking initiatives like deepening ponds and constructing check dams. The company also collaborates with government departments to enhance education quality by reinforcing infrastructure in government schools and Anganwadi centres. These efforts benefited 1,38,438 individuals.

Additional CSR Programs

ACC collaborates with local gram panchayats to promote tree plantation, planting over 50,800 saplings covering 256 acres since April 2023. The company also promotes sports in rural areas, benefiting 3,150 youths across its CSR sites.

Governance and Strategic Approach

ACC’s CSR initiatives are guided by a clear vision to deliver superior and sustainable value to all stakeholders.
