BHUBANESWAR: With the objective of providing the healthcare services at people’s doorstep, Hindalco Industries Ltd, the metal flagship of Aditya Birla Group, has started the “Healthcare on Wheels” in the adjacent villages of Hirakud in Sambalpur district.
The MHU (Mobile Health Unit) of company is regularly visiting the villages of Gundurupada, Mahhamadpur, Dengimacha, Budhakanta, Larbhanga, Gadamunda, Nua Jamda, Nua Gujatala, Larpank, Remed, Gopalapalli, etc and rendering services to the people of those villages.
Through this service, the villagers are being provided free healthcare consultation and free medicines for normal Flu, fever, Cough, Dehydration and other diseases. This apart, Covid sensitization programmes are also being carried out by the company in those villages. This “Healthcare on Wheels” service is being carried out jointly by the Sambalpur Distt. Admin and the company.
The Cluster Head of Hindalco Hirakud, Kailash Pandey who oversees the execution of this service, says “there are many people who very lightly take this common flu and fever and other diseases, hence being neglected and got fatal. To cater to this, we have started this initiative of taking the healthcare to their doorstep and address them. As a responsible corporate citizen, we are taking several initiatives in providing better healthcare to people and this is one of them, he adds.
This service is being coordinated and executed by the CSR team under the direct supervision of Krishna Padhi, the HR Head of company. This initiative of the company has received encomiums from all sections of people of the region including the intelligentsia.
