RAIPUR (Chhattisgarh): To strengthen the health infrastructure of Chhattisgarh from villages to the capital city Raipur, State government has decided to utilize the potential resources of private sector as well.
In this sequence, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to reserve 25 acres of land in Nava Raipur for establishing a private hospital equipped with world class facilities. In this soon-to-be-established well-equipped hospital, patients would be provided treatment under state schemes.
With the development of this hospital, patients would no longer have to travel outside of the state for treatment of critical diseases. Mr. Baghel has already sought an action plan from all the District Collectors of the state for upgradation of all the government hospitals, right from the block-level to the district level.
None of the patients will have to travel outside the state to avail medical treatments in future
After the second wave of COVID-19, Chief Minister has made health infrastructure development his topmost priority. Recently, during the foundation laying and inaugural programmes held in various districts, Chief Minister inaugurated various new facilities in the government hospitals. According to Baghel, “It was at the time of the second wave that the government had resolved to further strengthen the health infrastructure.
Establishment of an international standard private hospital in Nava Raipur would benefit not only the state but also the neighboring states.
Bhupesh Baghel has asked Chief Secretary of the State to prepare and submit action plan within 15 days from the Health Department, for development of this world-class hospital facility.
Resources of private sector to be utilized and treatment facilities to be provided under government schemes
Baghel said that although super-specialty facilities are available in many government and private sector hospitals of the state for treatment of all kinds of diseases, but still many a times during emergency situations, patients need immediate transfer to hospitals in metro cities via air ambulance.
Baghel said that this process of transfering the patient all the way to another state is not only very expensive and painful, but can even prove fatal for the patient. Hence, it is important to ensure development of a private hospital with national repute in the state, so that the patients get treatment for all kinds of serious diseases in the state itself.
Chief Minister has directed Chief Secretary to ensure that the hospital has provision for multi-organ transplant as well as for various types of multi-super specialty facilities. This hospital should have a capacity of 1000-1500 beds and 50 percent of the patients should be compulsorily benefitted under Dr. Khubchand Baghel scheme or Ayushman Bharat scheme.
