Bengaluru: Citizens have come together to make Nandi Hills, plastic free under #keepnandiclean campaign.
keepnandiclean has been initiated by Ramakrishna Ganesh, Founder of India Plog run and Banglore Plog Run and a World Record Holder.
This initiative is supported by Prashant Prakash, Partner at Accel Partners and department of horticulture of Karnataka to promote eco-tourism and single use plastic awareness among tourist.
This new campaign has started to promote plastic waste at key area of hills around hills to promote healthy and clean Toursim.
Speaking on the purpose of the campaign, Ram said, “we want to aware the tourists coming to Nandi Hills on Single use plastics and wearing mask for safety. With active participation of citizens, we are witnessing increasing interests from tourists.”
The campaign, Ram said, is an ongoing drive. Every week volunteers gather and participate in plogging and awareness activities.
