Hinduja Foundation, Finolex Industries Limited, and ground partner Mukul Madhav Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust, has committed its support to the relief work for Assam flood.
To comfort and support people who have been displaced and had to evacuate their homes due to the devastating flood, Hinduja Foundation and Finolex Industries Limited have set foot to provide relief kits. Mukul Madhav Foundation is contributing with its on ground volunteers in addition to the help being received from the Finolex dealers and representatives.
The work has been carried out across 8 heavily affected villages and aid has been provided in the form of dry grocery items. The essential dry grocery pack consists of Rice, Masoor Dal, Moong Dal, Salt, Sugar, Mustard Oil, Suji, Biscuits, turmeric, and face masks.
10,000 individuals have been supported in the districts of Morigaon & Barpeta in Assam through the funds provided by Hinduja Foundation & Finolex Industries.
Speaking about the activity, Mrs. Ritu Prakash Chhabria, Managing Trustee, Mukul Madhav Foundation said, “Our Hearts go out to everyone affected by the flood. Our thoughts are with the community and we are committed to making available immediate aid to children and families. India has been hit by floods in Assam and 2 cyclones that devastated West Bengal, Maharashtra. Both these organizations have been in the forefront to support those affected across geographies. It is heartening to see like-minded corporates and institutions collaborating for the betterment of our society”.

Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), was established in 1999 as a Public Charitable Trust. Today it is renowned for its charitable activities in Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Education.
Its collaboration with Finolex Industries in 2014 has strengthened and increased the spectrum of MMF’s work to the fields of Water Conservation, Social Welfare and Sanitation.
One of MMF’s groundbreaking projects was to construct a 59 bed state of the art Neo natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. MMF also provides medical and financial assistance to the less fortunate in society who need various surgeries and rehabilitations.
It offers funding to educational institutions and also assists financially challenged students with their fees and living expenses. In 2010, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya (MMV) an English medium school in Golap village, Ratnagiri was opened. The school has made the dream of getting a quality, all round, holistic education a reality for the children of rural Ratnagiri.
MMF has implemented many water schemes across rural Maharashtra & Gujarat, enriching the lives of thousands of villagers. The type of assistance given includes digging new wells, reviving old wells, installing electric pumps, and supplying water through tankers to the villages, as well as setting up water filtration units and water tanks.
The Foundation of the Hinduja Group was laid by Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, a self-made young entrepreneur from the fabled town of Shikarpur (then in undivided India). An entrepreneur, committed philanthropist and a visionary, Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja (P. D. Hinduja) entered the international arena with an office in Iran (the first outside India) in 1919. The twin pillars of the business were Merchant Banking and Trade. The Group remained headquartered in Iran till 1979.
