New Delhi – Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd indicated 16 complaints filed on sexual harassment in FY2018-19, the annual report of the company says.
However, the company has an apex complaints committee and an internal complaints committee which operate under a defined redressal system for complaints pertaining to sexual harassment of women at the workplace.
The legislation of India has also provided a penal provision for safety of women at their work places through Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.
According to a FICCI-EY November 2015 report, 36% of Indian companies and 25% among MNCs are not compliant with the Sexual Harassment Act, 2013.
The government has threatened to take stern action against employers who fail to comply with this law.
In this regard, the company has trained over 4000 employees for skill up-gradation and more than 10,000 employees underwent safety refresher training programme.
In FY19, out of 16 sexual harassment cases reported, 1 case is still pending, the annual report of FY2018-19 says.
