Bhubaneswar: An Indian multinational conglomerate, Aditya Birla Group Company, with its subsidiary Utkal Alumina (UA), provides healthcare at the doorstep.
Srimani Muduli, a 68 years old widow, is among the underprivileged residents of Andirakanch village, rendered almost immobile and weak due to Osteo Arthritis for last one year.
She didn’t take any medical advice and her condition worsened.
The team of MHU doctors from UA immediately swung into action and treated her over weeks, along with free medicines at regular intervals.
She was also counselled by the Social Protection Officer for emotional and mental support and improved considerably over a period of time.
She has expressed her gratitude to Help Age India and UA International Limited for providing health care.
Under ‘Health Care at Doorsteps’ UA in collaboration with Help Age India operates one Mobile Health Care Unit with a doctor, paramedical staff and a social protection officer.
Altogether, 44 villages in the Kashipur block of Rayagada district are covered under this programme through 10 strategic locations.
“We have been providing the best possible health care services to people”, N. Nagesh, President & Unit Head of UA, said.
“The company is about to facilitate multi specialty services at its hospital in Osapada with sophisticated medical equipment like ultra sound, digital x-ray, hematology analyzer, urine analyzer, auto-biochemistry analyzer, nephlometer and electrolyte analyzer”, he further added.
Treated 34,218 patients in the FY 2018-19, the hospital is operating out-patient department and extending specialist services in Medicine, Gynecology and Pediatrics at present.
“We are planning to extend our healthcare services because we care for the community”, Nagesh concluded.
