Anahatalife Launches PRATHAM – a Cultural Awareness Show on Muscular Dystrophy

anahantafile pratham (1)BANGALORE: Anahatalife launched a two day cultural show that witnessed more than 2000 bangaloreans , 15 city brands, participation by 5 NGOs at Rangoli, MG Road Metro Station. This fundraiser show was a contribution towards two main causes –  education & healthcare for refugee children from Sri Lanka and awareness on muscular dystrophy – a rare muscle disease that weakens the musculoskeletal system.

anahantafile pratham (2)  The show saw some electrifying performances by top bands like Chronic Blues , Dorian Junction , Elixirize.  Pt Radhakrishna opened the musical concert and classical performers such as Jyothsna & Radhika , Achyutha & Nikhil helped support the  initiative. Kalahaamsa added Kannada film flavor whereas Varun & Nitin added Bollywood flavor.

There were Live sculptors and live sketches and  proceeds were given to our causes. Swati Sharma, Bhawna Jain , Shereish Fatima, Sachin Sanghe , Soaps from my Kitchen, Kiran Creations, Rajguru, Abhinav Mathur , Deepak Brid, Poonam Parihar, Nagesh Hegde, Barun Chowdhari, Mithoon, Anandhasai Sivalingam, Sapna , Clinto Jaggan, Deepak Shakya were the artists who supported us by donating their pictures .

pandit radhakrishnaRight from children to adults – everyone enjoyed the day . We had 100 + volunteers from every aspect of the society – investment bankers, tech start ups, painters, Rjs , musicians, dancers, tarot card readers , film makers , business consultants, dancers, engineers, sportsmen, soap makers , sculptors , scientists – everyone was present to contribute to PRATHAM and enrich their own experience.

The age group covered 10 years to 64 years and about 10 different countries were represented by their citizens, All in all it was hugely diverse and inclusive event covering representation of al faiths , beliefs, cultures , religion , gender and occupation.

“We thank our patrons , the TV and media personnel covering us and all our elite panelists of the concert who turned up despite hectic schedule.”, Joyeeta Das said.

anahantafile prathamPratham is contributing to the following causes:

1.   To help refugee minors (below 15 yrs) with consistent education, food and medical aid.- Indira Gandhi International Academy (IGIA)

2.    To create more awareness about MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY (no medicine available yet in world) and support DART (Dystrophy Annihilation Research Trust)

Anahata ” means unstruck, unhurt, unbeaten. It is that integral part of you that is intense yet not tangible. A point of intensity so strong, that it overwhelms one with its sheer energy. “AnahataLife” is an international NGO – it is a conglomeration of scientists and sculptors, photographers and politicians, filmmakers and mathematicians, dancers and RJs, novelists and engineers. Both left-brained genius and right-brained talents volunteer in this NGO. These free thinkers come together to create projects. Projects that empower the community and that heal the world we live in.

Joyeeta Das is an active social activist in late twenties who has volunteered for Missionaries of Charity as a child , Old age homes as a teen , National Association for Blind in college and in numerous other social chapters. She has been awarded Cisco Hall of Fame for her field-work and contribution to PROJECT SAMUDAYA (flood rehabiliation in North Karnataka), Deccan Chronicle has featured her for her contribution to Sri LAnkan refugee camps , times has given her ‘young achiever’ and she is a thought leader for many other initiatives like adopt-a-school-campaign, Anatha shishu nivas, Karunashraya etc. and been featured in blogs, articles, magazines for her passionate work from a very young age.

Currently a program manager in a US MNC, she was originally a techie who also worked in start-ups as well as international Fortune 6 companies. She has travelled the globe and is passionate about making a difference to the world, as we know it. Joyeeta Das is also an official IT Strategic Consultant to IshaFoundation.org which is a humanitarian non-secular foundation known for imparting yoga and meditation techniques.
