The India CSR Awards® recognise organisations and initiatives that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, scalability and meaningful impact among underserved communities. Through this national platform, India CSR honours responsible institutions that translate commitment into measurable social progress and strengthen the country’s development ecosystem.
Congratulating 2HT Foundation, Rusen Kumar, Founder and Editor, India CSR®, said, “2HT Foundation’s recognition reflects the importance of building healthcare systems that reach people before illness becomes a crisis. Its community-to-care model, rooted in frontline capacity, public-health partnerships and timely follow-up, offers a thoughtful pathway for improving early cancer and NCD care in underserved communities. We congratulate the entire 2HT Foundation team on this well-deserved honour.”
The recognition marks an important milestone for 2HT Foundation and acknowledges its community-centred effort to strengthen early cancer detection, referral and continuity of care among tribal, rural and underserved communities in Odisha. It is also a tribute to the trust, participation and resilience of the communities served, as well as to the commitment of the Foundation’s grassroots team and frontline health workers.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the existing public-health system rather than create a parallel service-delivery structure. It works with ASHAs, ANMs and Community Health Officers to improve community awareness, CBAC-based risk identification, screening support, referral, patient navigation and follow-up. The model combines household-level engagement with service-delivery readiness at community and health-facility levels.
Through its digital platform, 2HT Foundation enables the identification and tracking of high-risk individuals across screening, referral, diagnosis, treatment linkage and follow-up. This digitally enabled continuum aims to minimise loss to follow-up and support timely access to appropriate care. The programme focuses on common cancers, including cervical, breast and oral cancers, while also addressing associated non-communicable disease risks.
The initiative was conceptualised in 2024 and developed through consultations, field assessments and engagement with Odisha’s public-health system. Operational rollout began in Jhumpura block of Keonjhar district in April 2026 and in Patnagarh block of Balangir district in June 2026. The current programme geography covers an estimated target population of approximately 1.34 lakh people; this represents planned population coverage and is not a claim that all individuals have already been screened or directly benefited.
2HT Foundation is advancing the programme in association with the Health and Family Welfare Department and National Health Mission, Government of Odisha. The model brings together Government health infrastructure, frontline workers, cancer-care expertise, community engagement and digital tracking to create a scalable pathway from early risk identification to care.
The Foundation dedicates this recognition to its ground team, ASHAs, CHOs, ANMs, MPWs, community volunteers, healthcare professionals and public-health administrators whose daily work helps connect underserved communities with timely healthcare services.
