Public health experts, government representatives, psychologists, HR leaders, child welfare professionals and reproductive medicine specialists come together to discuss why family building in India is becoming harder and what society can do to address it.

Hyderabad/Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada/Hanamkonda, 23 July 2026: Oasis Fertility successfully hosted Janani Dialogues 2026 simultaneously across Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hanamkonda, as part of a nationwide public-interest initiative focused on reproductive wellbeing, preventive awareness and informed family building. The discussions were held under the theme “The Parenthood Paradox: Building a Family-Friendly India.”

The main national dialogue, anchored in Hyderabad, was streamed live to multiple cities, creating a unified platform where healthcare professionals, government representatives, psychologists, HR leaders, child welfare experts and reproductive medicine specialists deliberated on the changing realities of family building in India.

The discussions focused on India’s declining Total Fertility Rate (TFR), changing lifestyles, delayed parenthood, career priorities, financial planning and the growing need for fertility awareness and preventive reproductive healthcare. Speakers emphasized that many fertility-related challenges can be prevented through timely awareness, early intervention and informed decision-making.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Durga G. Rao, Co-founder & Medical Director, Oasis Fertility, said:

“Family building in India is quietly becoming harder to plan for, not because people don’t want families, but because the biological clock, the economics of parenthood and the demands of modern careers are pulling in different directions. Janani Dialogues brings together government, healthcare, employers, psychologists and communities on one platform so that families are not left to navigate these choices alone.”

During the event, Oasis Fertility announced the launch of Oasis Academy, a dedicated education and training initiative aimed at strengthening India’s reproductive medicine ecosystem. The Academy will focus on research & innovation, knowledge transfer and specialist capability building while promoting scientific collaboration across national and international academic platforms. Oasis Academy has already trained more than 250 clinicians and over 200 embryologists, and plans to significantly expand specialist training, particularly across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Speaking during the regional programmes:

Dr. Radhika Potluri, Regional Medical Head – Visakhapatnam, said early fertility awareness and informed reproductive choices are essential for improving reproductive health outcomes. She added that specialist training through Oasis Academy will help strengthen healthcare capacity and make quality fertility care more accessible across the region.

Dr. Venkata Sujatha Vellanki, Regional Medical Head – Vijayawada, emphasized that increasing access to quality fertility care requires continuous investment in clinical excellence and specialist training. She said Oasis Academy will play a vital role in preparing the next generation of fertility specialists while improving reproductive healthcare services.

Dr. Jalagam Kavya Rao, Regional Medical Head – Hanamkonda, highlighted the importance of educating young couples about fertility preservation and timely reproductive planning. She noted that awareness, early consultation and continuous medical education will enable better reproductive health outcomes and help more families realize their parenthood aspirations.

Oasis Fertility reiterated that Janani Dialogues is a public-interest initiative and not an IVF or fertility treatment promotion campaign. The platform does not promote any specific treatment or encourage parenthood as an obligation. Instead, it aims to foster meaningful discussions around the economic, medical, workplace and social factors influencing family building, while encouraging collaborative solutions involving governments, healthcare providers, employers and communities.

The programme concluded with the Janani Declaration, outlining six guiding principles centred on lifelong reproductive health, informed choices, shared responsibility, dignity for every pathway to parenthood, balancing career and family aspirations, and a collective commitment towards building a Family-Friendly India.
