Company’s inclusive workplace and digital accessibility efforts earn CII recognition for disability inclusion
PUNE (India CSR): Persistent Systems, a global Digital Engineering and Enterprise Modernization leader, is strengthening disability inclusion by embedding accessibility across its workplaces, digital platforms, enterprise applications and employee experiences.
The company’s approach focuses on accessibility by design, governance, leadership accountability, independent audits and the implementation of global accessibility standards. Its efforts are aimed at enabling employees, candidates and visitors, including people with disabilities, to navigate workplaces and digital systems independently and confidently.
Persistent’s sustained work in this area has now been recognised with the CII Award for Excellence in Disability Inclusion 2026 in the category “Best Employer – Physical Accessibility.”
Accessibility Integrated into Workplace and Digital Systems
Persistent’s Pune facility served as the benchmark site for the CII evaluation. Accessibility was incorporated at the architectural design stage and implemented in line with India’s Harmonized Guidelines & Standards for Universal Accessibility 2021.
The company has also aligned its digital platforms and applications with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This reflects Persistent’s integrated approach to both physical and digital accessibility.
While the CII evaluation focused on the Pune facility, Persistent’s accessibility framework is being implemented across its workplaces and digital ecosystem globally.
