Community-led sustainability initiatives focus on plantation, cleanliness, waste reduction and climate responsibility
Cuttack (Odisha) (India CSR): Dalmia Bharat Ltd., one of India’s leading cement companies, celebrated World Environment Week 2026 in Cuttack with community-led sustainability initiatives aimed at strengthening environmental awareness and encouraging responsible living. The initiative brought together more than 70 participants, including employees and local community members, to promote collective action for a cleaner and greener future.
Community Action for Greener Surroundings
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, Dalmia Bharat organised plantation activities and cleanliness drives in Cuttack. The activities focused on reducing waste, improving local surroundings and creating awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
A total of 100 saplings were planted during the initiative. The plantation drive was aimed at enhancing local green cover and contributing to long-term ecological sustainability. The cleanliness drive further encouraged participants to adopt cleaner habits and support waste reduction at the community level.
Focus on Environmental Responsibility
The programme was designed to promote environmental responsibility through direct community participation. By involving employees and local residents, Dalmia Bharat sought to inspire people to take small but meaningful steps towards climate responsibility and sustainable living.
