LUCKNOW (India CSR): Maruti Suzuki India Limited has set up a state-of-the-art Smart Factory Lab at Government Polytechnic College, Lucknow, under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The lab aims to strengthen skill development and promote industry–academia collaboration.
In the inaugural year, around 400 students of the college will receive hands-on training in advanced manufacturing technologies. The lab is equipped with industry-relevant systems, including automation, Industrial Internet of Things, pneumatics, energy measurement and motion control technologies, the company said.
Maruti Suzuki has established similar Smart Factory Labs in four Government Polytechnic Colleges located in Lucknow, IERT Allahabad, Ambala and Nilokheri.
The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements. It will help diploma students develop technical competencies, improve employability and become industry-ready professionals. Five students at Government Polytechnic College, Lucknow also received merit-based scholarships.
