NEW DELHI (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top five global silver producers, is showcasing a technology-led, critical-minerals–focused, and purpose-driven galvanization experience at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025. Held from November 14–27 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the company’s exhibit at the Mining Pavilion (Hall 5, Stall 34A) highlights how advanced technologies, responsible mining, and zinc-based corrosion protection are shaping the foundations of a Viksit Bharat. Aligned with the national theme “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” the showcase demonstrates the vital role of critical metals in strengthening India’s infrastructure, energy transition, and long-term mineral self-reliance.

As India advances its Critical Mineral Mission and the broader Energy Transition agenda, Hindustan Zinc’s IITF 2025 showcase brings an exclusive immersive experience of the company’s most digitalised underground mining & smelting operations based out of Rajasthan.

At the heart of the stall is an interactive Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) cube that offers an immersive, intuitive learning experience, bringing the story of critical minerals to life. Through dynamic visualizations and real-time data displays, the installation demonstrates how zinc, silver, lead and other critical minerals form the backbone of India’s clean energy systems, manufacturing strength, and infrastructure development. The experience reinforces Hindustan Zinc’s expanding role in strengthening India’s mineral self-reliance through strategic exploration, technological advancement, and sustainable operations.

At today’s inaugural ceremony, Union Minister of Coal & Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, visited the immersive and tech-enabled Hindustan Zinc showcase. He explored innovations such as the Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) cube–based interactive technology that brings the story of critical minerals to life and experienced the company’s vast product portfolio.

Commenting on this, Arun Misra, CEO – Hindustan Zinc said “India’s journey to becoming a Viksit Bharat will be built on the strength of its critical minerals, world-class infrastructure, and a future-ready industrial ecosystem. At Hindustan Zinc, our focus is to enable this transformation through responsible mining, technology-led operations and a deep commitment to sustainability. Our presence at IITF 2025 is a reflection of this purpose – to demonstrate how zinc, silver, and other strategic metals will power India’s energy transition, secure mineral self-reliance, and create long-term socio-economic value for the nation.”

Visitors can also explore a virtual tour of Hindustan Zinc’s world-class operations through an immersive VR setup. The experience is set to transport participants to the company’s Rampura Agucha Mine and Chanderiya Smelter in Rajasthan, offering a first-hand view of advanced mining systems, digital process controls, environmental stewardship, and circular economy practices that position Hindustan Zinc among the world’s most sustainable metal producers.

The product display zone showcases the company’s core offerings – Special High Grade Zinc, EcoZen (Asia’s First Low-Carbon Zinc), 99.99% Pure Silver, Sphalerite (Zinc Ore), and demonstrations of real-world applications. The exhibit highlights zinc’s critical role in galvanization, a process that protects steel and infrastructure from corrosion, a challenge that costs India nearly 5% of its GDP annually. Through innovative, zinc-based solutions, Hindustan Zinc advocates for durable, eco-efficient, and long-lasting infrastructure that supports India’s rapid urbanisation and industrial growth.

Adding an engaging and educational layer, there is “Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc 2.0”, the second phase of the company’s flagship national campaign that champions the importance of galvanization for nation-building. Through an engaging social experiment, interactive demonstrations, and a galvanization quiz, the activation educates visitors on how zinc protects steel from corrosion, prevents infrastructure loss, and supports long-term sustainability. The 2.0 phase brings a renewed focus on public awareness, behavioural change, and making corrosion protection a mainstream infrastructure priority for India.

The showcase also brings focus to the company’s social impact programmes, showcasing how the company strengthens rural livelihoods and promotes women entrepreneurship. Under Sakhi (social impact initiative aimed at empowering rural women in Rajasthan), visitors can experience and sample products such as pulses, ghee, pickles, spices, and namkeens created by women-led self-help groups across Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the Upaya display showcases high-quality, handcrafted textiles made by local artisans, highlighting the company’s commitment to inclusive and market-linked skilling programmes.

With over five decades of mining and smelting expertise and one of the world’s lowest-cost zinc production systems, Hindustan Zinc continues to combine innovation, R&D, and responsible resource management to drive India’s critical mineral security. Its participation at IITF 2025 reaffirms the company’s vision of building a resilient, self-reliant, and low-carbon future through technology, sustainability, and inclusion.
