ODISHA (India CSR): Nava Limited is dedicated to creating sustainable impact in its operational areas through initiatives in health, education, livelihood, and community development. The “See to Learn” program is one of the many steps taken under its CSR framework to empower communities and improve quality of life.
As part of its continued commitment to community health and education, Nava Limited Odisha Operations, in collaboration with Care Netram and supported by Good Vision Germany, successfully conducted a large-scale eye screening program titled “See to Learn – Healthy Eye, Better Learning.”
The initiative, held from 18th to 27th August 2025, covered 18 peripheral government schools of Odapada and Hindol blocks in Dhenkanal district. A total of 1,710 individuals were screened, including 1,637 school children and 73 teachers and parents.

Good vision is vital for effective learning, yet many children face undiagnosed vision problems that affect their academic performance and overall well-being. Recognizing this challenge, Nava Limited launched “See to Learn” under its CSR framework to enable early detection and correction of vision impairments.
Key Outcomes
- 140 children (8%) diagnosed with refractive errors have received unbreakable flexi corrective spectacles.
- 36 students with eye ailments such as cataract and pterygium were referred to specialized hospitals.
- 9 students with severe eye conditions were identified for urgent medical attention.
- Parents were counselled for ensure their wards for regular use of spectacle and timely treatment and follow-up care.
Program Highlights
- Conducted in 18 schools in saturated mode all students were covered.
- Implemented with technical support from Care Netram, a government-recognized NGO specializing in eye care across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.
- Advanced diagnostic tools used, including German Auto Refractometer, Retinal Camera Scope, Ophthalmoscope, and VT 1 Vision Screener.

Community Engagement
Parents and teachers actively participated through awareness sessions on eye health and the importance of early detection. Referral details, including LV Prasad Eye Institute and other partner hospitals, were shared for affordable treatment access.
