NEW DELHI (India CSR): Allstate India, a distinguished subsidiary of the Fortune 100 US insurance company The Allstate Corporation, proudly announces significant milestones in its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The recent expansion of the Rainwater Harvesting Project in association with the NASSCOM GCC Consortium in Bengaluru mark a key achievement in the company’s commitment to social impact and sustainable development.
In continuation of its commitment to water conservation, Allstate India has inaugurated the next phase of the Rainwater Harvesting Project in Bengaluru. Building on the success of the installations in government schools last year, the project continues to conserve thousands of liters of water through harvesting units installed in 21 government schools so far.
The Rainwater Harvesting Project, with the support of implementation partner The Forward Foundation, aims to address the common essential natural source for all living beings – water. School children gain access to clean water while learning about sustainable practices, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Chetan Garga, Managing Director, Allstate India, said, “Water conservation is vital in the fight against climate change. Our Rainwater Harvesting Project in Bengaluru and Pune not only provides clean water to schools but educates the next generation about environmental stewardship. By expanding this initiative, we’re not just harvesting rainwater; we’re sowing seeds of awareness and responsibility in the hearts of our future leaders. Together, we can create a sustainable and water-secure future for all.”
Looking ahead, Allstate India aims to expand its CSR interventions to reach the larger communities across Maharashtra and Karnataka. The company remains committed to creating a positive impact on society, fostering sustainability, and empowering communities through ongoing initiatives.
In addition to this, as part of its women empowerment initiative Allstate India has been conducting Project Nirmiti, a comprehensive tailoring training program for women for the past six months. The initiative has empowered 140 underprivileged women in Pune, providing them with valuable skills and tools for income generation. The valedictory ceremony, scheduled in the upcoming weeks, will focus on awarding certificates to the participants and donating sewing machines to kickstart their independent income generation.
