Greater Hyderabad is witnessing a remarkable surge in its vehicular population, which has recently surpassed the 70 lakh mark. This considerable growth is primarily seen in the number of two-wheelers and four-wheelers in the city. With over 56.9 lakh two-wheelers and 14.1 lakh four-wheelers, the influx of personal vehicles on the roads of Hyderabad is more prominent than ever.

In a span of six years, from 2017 to 2023, the number of cars alone has escalated from 9.20 lakh to 14.1 lakh, and it shows no signs of slowing down, expected to reach 15 lakh shortly. This boom in vehicle ownership can be attributed to an increased preference for personal mobility and the affordability of four-wheelers.
