Tata Power Shows High Return to Work and Retention Rates Post-Parental Leave in FY23

MUMBAI (India CSR Exclusive): Tata Power Company Limited demonstrates exceptional support for its employees by providing ample parental leave, according to the data released for FY23. The company upholds a remarkable return to work rate and retention rate post parental leave, as seen in the figures below.

Parental Leave Availed by Tata Power Employees

In FY23, Tata Power Company Limited offered parental leave benefits to its entire workforce of 23,025 employees. Out of the total workforce, 1.37% of male employees (285 out of 20,991) and 3.29% of female employees (67 out of 2,034) availed themselves of this benefit. This indicates that a higher percentage of eligible female employees took advantage of the parental leave policy compared to their male counterparts.

High Return to Work Rates After Parental Leave

On completion of their parental leave, 284 males and 50 females returned to work, displaying a high return to work rate of 99.65% for males and 74.63% for females. This data showcases the company’s successful efforts in maintaining a supportive work environment that encourages employees to resume their careers post-parental leave.

Strong Retention Rates Post-Parental Leave

From the previous reporting period, 119 males and 11 females who had taken parental leave, continued to work with the company. The retention rates following the return from parental leave stood at a perfect 100% for both genders, pointing to a strong company culture that values and supports its employees during major life events such as parenting.

Employees Yet to Return From Parental Leave

However, as of the end of FY23, 18 employees (1 male and 17 females) had not yet returned to work after their parental leave. The reasons behind this gap remain undisclosed, but this could be an area of interest for the company to examine in the future, especially to better understand and address any potential challenges faced by female employees in resuming work post-parental leave.
