BHUBNESWAR: With the advent of industrial activities by Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) in Odisha’s Angul district, a turnaround is seen in the social lives in the project areas, according to a new study.
It was found in an Impact Assessment Study of the CSR Activities of JSPL, Angul conducted by NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS), the wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD, company sources said today.
Quoting the study report, they said the activities relating to Health, Education, Infrastructure, creation of livelihood opportunities involving the affected families in creating a new societal atmosphere are quite commendable.
In order to measure the impact of JSPL’s CSR initiatives, the Study Team interacted with the Primary Beneficiaries at all levels including Social Groups, Community Institutions like that of the SHGs and PRI with a special focus on displaced and affected families, he said.
The Study Team Members from NABARD Consultancy Services received feedback from the Opinion makers, Government functionaries and Media.
Health Services like “Kishori Express” by JSPL which addresses anaemia control of adolescent girls and providing Safe Drinking Water by constructing Deep Tube wells and Tanker services during stress period in the periphery villages as a committed CSR activity by JSPL have helped the community, it said.
The Study report lauds the effort of JSPL for its support for school infrastructures and its initiative in providing Education Material support to the Children of the Convicts of Jail Victims in 43 Jails of 30 districts in Odisha, sources said.
