NEW DELHI: Jubilant Bhartia Foundation has taken a bold step towards promoting diversity and inclusion in the manufacturing sector by launching the Wementorship project. The project aims to provide workplace skills training and mentorship to 120 girls from nearby Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). These young women will then be inducted as apprentices at manufacturing sites, thus raising their participation in the manufacturing sector.
According to a recent report by the International Labour Organization, women’s participation in the manufacturing sector is only 20%, compared to men’s participation of 80%. The report further highlights that increasing women’s participation in the manufacturing sector could lead to economic growth and create new opportunities for women.
The Wementorship project by Jubilant Bhartia Foundation is a step towards achieving this goal. By providing training and mentorship to young women, the project aims to create a more hospitable ecosystem for women in the industry. This will not only increase their participation in the manufacturing sector but also empower them to become future leaders in the industry.
