While you prepare for UPSC exams, the segment on the most recent current events is the one that cannot be skipped. The occurrences of regional and global relevance that may be covered in the UPSC exam must be familiar to all IAS candidates. These address both descriptive and objective-type questions for the main and the preliminary exam. Candidates’ exam performance will significantly improve if they choose to read Current Affairs Today.

What Do Daily Happenings Entail?

Aspirants can prepare a more thorough and statistically sound response in the UPSC Main examination by analysing not only the most recent incident but also its context and background. The majority of the queries come from recent news stories on current world events.

The candidates’ opinions on any recent news items pertaining to their alternative or core subjects may also be included in the IAS Interview questions. Therefore, current affairs are essential to passing all three phases of the UPSC exam. Additionally, information regarding the UPSC optional subjects is also available.

Candidates must be adequately informed about recent issues, including national news concerning the Government, the Culture of our nation, Social Issues, and Daily Activities. Knowledge about World Affairs, India, and the relations between the two, International Agencies, Global Trade, Treaties and Agreements, Reviews, Survey Data, and Indexes of Bilateral, Regional, and Global Entities are just a few of the many topics covered by International Current Affairs.

The most recent news regarding Political Activities, as well as information about Notable Politicians, Campaigns, and Surveys, may all be found in Political Affairs.

The Monetary Queries include a variety of topics, including the Indian economy, structure, financial knowledge, banking knowledge, farming practices and processing industry, employment & profession, institutions study, scale, strategy, programme, laws, and education. Through sports news, you can learn about local, national, and international sporting events. This section of Current Affairs includes information on research and development, new innovations, biotechnology, medicine, and illnesses occurring worldwide.

What Are UPSC Alternative Subjects?

The UPSC main examination Papers 6 and 7 contain the alternative subjects. The first two papers in the UPSC mains assessment are required, and the remaining papers. Papers 1 through 7 include an essay paper, four General Studies papers, and two optional topic papers. A candidate has the opportunity to select any favourite subject first from the list of elective subjects for the UPSC mains exam.

The 48 alternative subjects for UPSC are broken down into particular elective subjects and literature optional subjects, according to the UPSC notice. There are two optional papers, each worth 250 points, for a maximum of 500 points.

The full list of optional UPSC subjects from which a candidate may select is provided in this article. You can get information on how to select the UPSC optional subject that is the simplest and ace the test on your first try. Languages like Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Santhali, Nepali, Konkani, and many more are covered in the literature.

Agriculture, Anthropology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy, Political Science & International Relations, and Statistics are just a handful of the many optional subject possibilities available. The majority of applicants commit the usual error of selecting an elective subject based on factors like popularity, the accessibility of learning resources, and their level of schooling. However, you shouldn’t base your optional decision on these elements as it could lose you a chance.
