Taking a huge leap towards the organisation’s vision to provide employment to 4000 youth of the district by 2025
Mumbai (India CSR)I Tata Chemicals’ CSR arm Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD) conducts numerous interventions with an aim generate employment for rural youth to provide financial independence and support the overall economic growth of the region. In line with this mission, TCSRD organised its fourth annual Job Fair, the company said.
Over 1600 candidates from around 256 villages participated in the fair, where they were offered jobs by 10 prestigious companies like Banco product (India) Ltd., Nanliu Manufacturing (India) Private Limited, Yazaki India Pvt. Ltd., Lumax Industries Ltd., Voltas Becko Ltd., Banco Gaskets India Ltd and others making it a huge success.
Candidates from three key educational backgrounds, ITI pass-outs, Graduates, HSC pass-outs participated in this recruitment drive and were selected through an interview process for floor-shop jobs. The registrations to participate was made very easy, where candidates enrolled via the website or an android application. TCSRD played a very important role in negotiating for facilities like free bus service, residence and subsidised canteen facility with the recruiters.
All the candidates, as well as companies participating in the event, have been linked with a government portal for the future reference of up-gradation making the process seamless. The initiative covered 4 blocks and 250 villages of Devbhumi Dwarka district and 6 villages of Porbandar district.
TCSRD also provides skill development and entrepreneurship training thereby providing employable skills to compete in the ambitious job market. This is being done through a Skill Development centre, which is also actively working towards providing employment to rural youth in Devbhumi Dwarka district, the company said.
