Before the list begins, ardent cricket fans shall know how difficult achieving the feat of 6 sixes in an over is.

Batsmen who are proficient at hitting sixes are the ones who are known to pull in the crowds as far as T20 cricket is considered. Cricket is one of the biggest sports across the globe, and the majority of the audience hails from the Indian subcontinent. With a 1.6 billion prospective audience, there are large volumes of individuals who are looking to be entertained by the big hits or the โ€œmaximums,โ€ as they are referred to by the commentators.

In 2021, the second half of the Indian Premier League took place in the United Arab Emirates. Here. the cricket stadium of Sharjah is extremely small, and with small boundary distances, it is known to be a paradise for big-hitting batsmen. Hence, in this article, we shall answer your question about which batsman can hit 6 sixes in an over.

Before the list begins, ardent cricket fans shall know how difficult achieving the feat of 6 sixes in an over is. Indians, in general, were mesmerized by the effort put in by Yuvraj Singh in the 2007 ICC T20 Menโ€™s Cricket World Cup when he smashed bowler Stuart Broad for 6 sixes in an over in a game when India faced England. In IPL T20 cricket, this feat hasnโ€™t been achieved ever since the inception of the league. Some of the biggest names in IPL cricket, such as Chris Gayle, Suresh Raina, AB de Villiers, have all come close but havenโ€™t achieved success. But below is a list of prospects who might etch their names in IPL history in pure gold by smashing 6 sixes in an over :

1. Ravindra Jadeja

The name of the Saurashtra cricketer at the top of this list may come as a surprise to many. But it is probably going to be well appreciated by all the cricket fanatics who follow every cricket update with an eagle eye. Jadeja has been in red hot form in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Having scored 212 runs in 13 games with the highest score of 62, not out, the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder is in prime position to score 6 sixes in an over on his best day.

2. Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia was a surprise find for the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League. While that may not have exactly helped the team to prosper, he did manage to slam 5 sixes in an over and shock fans and his teammates alike. While Tewatia did not exactly find himself in the best of form for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League with the bat, he continues to be one of the strongest contenders to hit 6 sixes in an over of the Indian Premier League.

3. KL Rahul

The Punjab Kings captain has justified his price tag of 11 crore INR during his stint with the Punjab side as its captain. While the team has had no change in fortune, his form has always led them to win matches even in the most difficult situations. In 2021, every PBKS match cricket update started with news of a boundary from the batsman. Having slammed 22 sixes in 13 games for the Punjab side, he is certainly amongst the frontrunners for hitting 6 sixes in an over in the IPL.

4. Glenn Maxwell

The Australian all-rounder who currently represents the Bangalore franchise in the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League has found a fresh surge of energy and is performing at his classic best. Having had a string of poor seasons with his former side, the Kings XI Punjab, he is now excelling in literally every department. Having slammed 21 sixes in 13 games for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021, he is also one of the key players who could hit 6 sixes in an over in the IPL.

5. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The Pune-based batsman who represents the Chennai franchise in the IPL T20 league was a great find in 2020 and currently is a player who can slam 6 sixes in an over, going by the statistics that boast of his 20 sixes in 13 IPL games this year.

We will have to wait for next yearโ€™s IPL to find out if any of these 5 batsmen can perform the remarkable feat of hitting 6 sixes in an over.
