Barbil: The 59th Annual Metaliferous Mines Safety Week Final Day function was held at Soyaballi in Keonjhar district on Wednesday. The day-long event, held under the aegis of Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Chaibasa region was hosted by TRB Iron Ore Mines of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP).
Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad graced the function as Chief Guest in the presence of Shri Altaf Hussain Ansari, Director of Mines Safety, Chaibasa Region; Shri Anil Kumar Jha, Chairman, JPL; Shri Ashish Pandey, Vice President, JSP; Shri Pramod Kumar Patra, Vice President, JSP and other senior dignitaries of DGMS.
At the outset, Shri Patra welcomed all the guests and mines officials present on the occasion.
The event was kicked-off by hoisting the safety flag by the Chief Guest. The main purpose of this celebration was to involve all mine owners and employees to work towards improving safe work practices to significantly reduce and achieve zero harm in the mines.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Kumar stressed upon the digitization process to be adopted in the safety measures of the mining companies. He said, “Safety should be an integral part of all our mining operations and this has to be imbibed in our work culture. Systematic approach and right attitude can help us achieve Zero Harm in our mining work.”
Addressing the gathering Shri Ansari elaborated upon the different safety measures being adopted with the use of modern technology by the different mining companies and applauded the efforts of various companies for the same.
In his deliberation Shri Jha opined that all employees, business partners and people associated with mining activities and operations should be given equal and utmost importance when it comes to safety.
