NEW DELHI: TrendyBharat, the India-proud e-commerce marketplace serving value-conscious consumers of the country, introduced a winter wear donation drive in its offices recently. The program ran for a week, wherein the company’s employees generously donated woollen wear to share warmth with the underprivileged people this winter season. The drive was organised with the help of Delhi based NGO ‘Goonj’.
Winters can be pitilessly brutal, particularly in the northern parts of the nation. Many don’t survive this cruel season leading to high death rate in colder months of the year. Considering the bone-chilling cold conditions here in the city, TrendyBharat came forward to provide sweaters and woollen clothes to the less fortunate section of the society.
With the professional aid of the Delhi-based NGO Goonj, TrendyBharat employees distributed more than 100 pieces of winter wear among the underprivileged people.
Harleen Kaur Jawanda, TrendyBharat said, “Every year before winter sets in, most of our family members scan our closet and take out all the woollens, which are in a good condition but won’t fit anymore. So this year, we thought of giving back what we have to the society. It’s been a real privilege for us to have been associated with such a noble cause’’.
