With a vision to empower and enrich the society with its efforts, K Raheja Corp is involved in various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. These activities are an initiation towards creating a more equitable environment for the society.

Acting as a bridge between the organization and the beneficiaries, Chandru Raheja, the Chairman of the company K Raheja Corp, is playing a key role in building the company’s CSR wing. A philanthropist, he has zealously established multiple facilities like the L S Raheja Technical School, SL Raheja Hospital & Diabetic Research Center, and L S Raheja College of Arts & Architecture.

India CSRWith an aim to make a difference across various society-impacting areas, the company has partnerships with NGOs, governments and other stakeholders. He also passionately supports the Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI) – a registered NGO working towards sourcing of bone marrow donors.

Through phased development in various sectors, K Raheja Corp is making substantial value addition to the society.

Education

Chandru Raheja strongly believes education has the power to change the face of a nation. The foundation of LS Raheja College and L S Raheja Technical School is proof of the organization’s far-sightedness and considerate viewpoint. Other education initiatives by K Raheja Corp include elementary education facilities for site workers’ children, educational institutions under the Sadhna Education Society, and other institutions set up for Arts and Commerce.

Teaching Tree is another influential step taken by K Raheja Corp, led by its business parks Mindspace and NGOs Teach for India, Save the Children and others. It asserts that education is equivalent to investment, and also the most powerful weapon. It has the ability to transform the world for good.

The initiative provides quality education to children of daily wage earners. Besides providing them a dignified and meaningful future, Teaching Tree also educates the teachers. It ensures enhancement of training for the teachers, so that improved education is passed on to the students.

Book collection drives and art exhibitions are some of the other activities, where the kids get a chance to showcase their talent within the Mindspace Business Park, giving them a chance to interact with some of the best from the IT industry. K Raheja Corp’s employees have also pledged their time and aid to the children under this program.

Community Upkeep

Partnering with Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), K Raheja Corp has taken up the drive to transform Hyderabad’s Durgam Chevuru Lake, spread over 83 acres. Also known as Secret Lake because it is hidden between Jubilee Hills and Madhapur, its transformation will give the residents of Hyderabad a scenic spot in the city.

With the project, K Raheja Corp endeavors to provide Hyderabad a clean waterfront, along with enhanced biodiversity. The completion of this project will transform the lake into a scenic space with facilities for health, entertainment, fitness, adventure and restoration. The work on this project began in May 2017.

Worker Welfare

Chandru Raheja has been a torchbearer for worker welfare. His belief that doing well to people must begin at home, makes sure the last-mile laborer is well taken care of. He makes sure that his company provides medical care facilities and mobile crèches for all construction site workers. Health, sanitation and meals of their children are also taken care of.

Training
Empowerment is what drives K Raheja Corp’s training initiatives. Under this division, the company has the following programs:

  • Apparel training center: Helping women become financially independent, the center trains them in various skills related to the apparel industry.
  • Youth readiness training: The youth from rural areas are trained in inherent skills, promising a progressive future with ample employment opportunities.

Healthcare

Providing top-notch healthcare to communities, following are the initiatives taken by K Raheja Corp.

  • S L Raheja Hospital – Center of Excellence in Diabetes and Oncology
  • Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI) – A registered NGO working towards sourcing of bone marrow donors

K Raheja Corp plays a potent role in the development of the society. Envisioning a sustainable community, the originator of K Raheja Corp, Chandru Raheja has taken some significant steps in that direction.
