CHANDIGARH: On the eve of International Women’s Day, CII Northern Region in association with Nanhi Chhaan foundation is celebrating the Nanhi Chhaan Day on Friday, 8th March 2013 at CII Northern Region Headquarters, Sector 31-A, Chandigarh. “It is also decided to benchmark the day to be celebrated 8 March as Nanhi Chhaan Day every year in CII Northern Region.” CII informed in a statement.
Mr Man Mohan Singh Kohli, Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council & CEO, Hotel Aroma; Dr Reetinder Mohan, Former HoD, Department of Psychology, Government College for Girls, Chandigarh; Mrs Meera Bajwa, Nanhi Chhaan Foundation & President, Inner wheel Rotary Mid Town, Ludhiana and Mr Darpan Kapoor, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council & Managing Director, Kapsons Fashion Pvt Ltd will grace the occasion as the guests during the function.
Women and nature are the core entity for living as they have the godly power to create. Feeble they face the harsh aspects of living in every aspect and gradually fade away each day in oblivion. Nevertheless, there are numerous Government bodies, Corporate and NGOs taking large interest in women empowerment and environment protection as they have realized that growth of nation to a large extent lies in making each individual strong, be it a man or a woman.
“Environment and women have always been linked together as both trees and mothers are considered as the greatest nurturers and givers of nature. The Nanhi Chhaan initiative seeks to honour and recognize the importance of preserving trees and protecting girls and in turn mothers.” Ms. Monde Patricia, Confederation of Indian Industry Northern Region added.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is always committed and have primary invocations to Save the Girl Child, Save the Environment and to Save Humanity through inter faith harmony.
The programme includes an interaction session, Mime show followed by saplings distribution among the invitees.
