MUMBAI: YES BANK, India’s fourth largest private sector Bank, was awarded the prestigious Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Awards, in the ‘Outstanding Sustainable Project Financing’ category.
This is the second year running that YES BANK has won at these prestigious Awards, instituted by the European Organization for Sustainable Development, the City of Karlsruhe, Germany and the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific and presented at the Global Sustainable Finance Conference 2014.
YES BANK was adjudged the winner for its outstanding success in renewable energy generation project financing. Michael Overt, Secretary General of Association of Development Financial Institutions of Asia Pacific and Guido Rebstock, Ministerial Director, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Federal state of Baden – Wurttemberg, Germany in the presence of His Excellency Dr Makhenkesi Arnold Stofile, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Germany awarded the trophy to YES BANK. While presenting the award, Arshad Rab, CEO of the the European Organization for Sustainable Development said “I would like to congratulate the management and the entire team of YES BANK for being awarded the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award for the second time. It clearly demonstrates the outstanding leadership of YES Bank in green project financing and in responsible banking.”

For its commitment to sustainable development and responsible banking, YES BANK was conferred the Golden Peacock Award for CSR in 2013, the “Commendation Certificate for Significant Achievement” at the CII ITC Sustainability Awards 2013, the Mint & Institute of Competitiveness Strategy Award, apart from awards for strategy, product and process innovation, financial performance and information technology.

Global Sustainable Finance Conference 2014 is organized by GSFN under the auspices of World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI) and its regional associations.
