MUMBAI (India CSR): In a significant step towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel, virtually inaugurated the Welspun Home Solutions Limited terry towel manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Further strengthening Gujarat’s position as a global manufacturing hub, Welspun will become the world’s largest terry towel manufacturer under a single roof providing a diverse range of products. This new facility will generate over 3,000 direct and over 10,000 indirect employment opportunities, taking the total workforce at Anjar to approximately 30,000 employees.
Notably, the foundation stone for this new plant was also laid by Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel last year in December and the project has been completed in a record time of just 12 months making it ready for production. The inauguration of the plant within such a short timeline reflects Gujarat’s robust industrial ecosystem and Welspun’s execution capabilities.
With the commencement of this new facility it will further strengthen Welspun’s and Gujarat’s position as a global manufacturing hub and reinforcing its leadership in the home textiles sector.
Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel said on this occasion that “The contribution of local companies like Welspun is very important for a self-reliant India. Welspun Group has been working in Gujarat since 2004 and is actively contributing to the initiatives of the Government of India like Make in India, Make for the World, Local to Global and has been helping in creating local employment and is pioneering inclusive growth. The Welspun Group has achieved the feat of preparing this plant in a short period of just 12 months, which is in line with the ‘do what you say’ style of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. Let us imbibe the mantra of support for all, development for all, trust for all, efforts for all.”
Welspun’s Anjar plant will now be known as the world’s largest towel manufacturing facility. This state-of-the-art plant is equipped with advanced technologies and a diverse product range, further strengthening Welspun Living’s global leadership in the home textiles sector. The facility reflects Welspun’s commitment to innovation and large-scale employment generation in Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, Dipali Goenka, Managing Director and CEO, Welspun Living said, “Every disruption at Welspun has taught us not to just stand back but to scale higher.
