UDAIPUR (India CSR): Vedanta’s Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with the Anil Agarwal Foundation, has inaugurated 31 Nand Ghars in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district. These modernized anganwadis aim to enhance the lives of children and women through nutrition, education, healthcare, and empowerment programs.
The ceremony, held at the Madara Nand Ghar in the Railmagra block, was attended by prominent figures, including Mahima Kumari Mewar, Member of Parliament, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, MLA Nathdwara, and Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from community members and representatives from Hindustan Zinc and the Nand Ghar team.
1 A Vision for Holistic Community Development
The Nand Ghar initiative, Vedanta’s flagship community program under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, is developed in partnership with the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. These centers provide digital early childhood education, healthcare services, and nutrition programs, while also promoting women’s empowerment.
“Children and women are central to our development strategy for Rajasthan,” said Mahima Kumari Mewar, Member of Parliament. “These Nand Ghars reflect a shared vision to uplift communities at the grassroots level.”
2 Equipped for a Brighter Future
The newly inaugurated Nand Ghars, located in the Railmagra and Khamnor blocks, are equipped with solar power, e-learning tools, and modern healthcare services. These centers symbolize sustainable rural development and aim to foster the holistic growth of communities.
Highlighting the impact, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, MLA Nathdwara, stated, “The Nand Ghar initiative is a transformative step toward ensuring the well-being and growth of children and women, the future of Rajasthan.”
3 A National Milestone for Nand Ghar
The Anil Agarwal Foundation plans to establish 25,000 Nand Ghars across Rajasthan within the next two years. Currently, more than 6,600 Nand Ghars are operational across 15 states, positively impacting over 2,60,000 children and 1,90,000 women nationwide.

4 Beyond Nand Ghars: Hindustan Zinc’s Broader Impact

Programs like Shiksha Sambal, Zinc Football Academy, and Sakhi and Samadhan focus on education, skill development, healthcare, and infrastructure improvement. These initiatives have positively impacted nearly 20 lakh lives across 3,700 villages.
