The talent hunt is a community development initiative undertaken by Hindustan Zinc way to include amateur talents from Rajasthan to be a part of India’s biggest carnival, Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival 2022
UDAIPUR: Vedanta Talent Hunt launched under the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival banner from 10th November. The talent hunt is an endeavour by Hindustan Zinc to bring amateur young musicians to the international platform of the festival which will continue the call for entries till 25th November 2022. The talent hunt will target 5 districts of Rajasthan which include Udaipur, Rajsamand, Ajmer, Chittorgarh and Bhilwara to find young talents through an intense process.
As part of Hindustan Zinc’s community development initiative, the talent hunt is a unique initiative aims at promoting grassroots talent and empowering them with the opportunity to be a part of the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival in December. The talent hunt will be sending out open calls around the targeted districts for young musicians between the age group of 12 – 30 to send in their auditions on video tape which will then be assessed by a jury to select 1 winner each from the 5 districts.
The sixth edition of the Vedanta World Music Festival has the underlying theme of “Preservation and propagation of the forgotten musical instruments and traditions of Rajasthan” where the festival focuses on reviving forgotten musical instruments and its artists by encouraging them and giving them a platform. VUWMF 2022 will focus on showcasing Sarangi, to inspire younger generations to follow its legacy. Sarangi is a protected musical tradition by UNESCO.
